Bibimbap on the Camino

As we left San Anton I was already thinking about dinner that evening (walking all day with a backpack tends to shift your priorities to more basic needs).

We’d managed to reserve dorm beds in an Albergue in Castrojeriz that was run by a Korean – and the promise of Bibimbap for our evening pilgrim dinner was exciting.

The friendly hosts at the (booked out) Orion Albergue did not disappoint!

Simply put, we added a sriracha based sauce for heat, mixed everything together and enjoyed a wonderful communal dinner.

After dinner we engaged one of the hosts and convinced them to help us make an Espresso Martini (of sorts) as they had familiar ingredients on hand!

Using my water bottle as a shaker, we created a “bush espresso martini” that was passable (although lacking some sugar syrup).

It attracted the attention of the other Pilgrims and soon enough it seemed everyone was ordering a nightcap.
