Say what you Cee

After the rather long and hot walk to Lago-Abeleiroas yesterday, today’s walk to Cee offered some respite – although not much.

It also taught us that the place we’ve been pronouncing as “see” for the last few months is actually pronounced “say” (or “thay” if you have a strong Spanish accent) 😄.

At almost 26.5km, the walk was just over 3km shorter, and even though it didn’t end with a pretty steep uphill section, the terrain was still challenging.

There was a lot of loose gravel and stones underfoot, and some pretty steep downhill sections at the very end that took some control to stop us riding down on our backs 😅.

Cee is a nice enough beachside town, a stone’s throw from Corcubión – which seems to be slightly larger and yet further for weary feet to traipse to 😬.

We spunked out on a hotel room rather than slumming it in a dorm room, and the air conditioning was very welcome. The hotel also offered a 3-course tasting menu of local food paired with local wines for €30 – a steal, quite frankly. Sea urchin croquettes as an amuse-bouche, followed by mussels, queenie scallops in the stickiest and loveliest balsamic-esque sauce ever, followed by a tasty yet rather difficult to eat sea bass dish – difficult because of the sheer number of bloody bones.

We topped this off with a short walk to the local beach to tire us out even more for tomorrow’s walk to the end of the world.
